Week of March 7 Wall concrete is finishing curing. Dredging has been suspended due to high water. EKS personnel is cleaning up and preparing site for high water. Lock is scheduled to open at 1201 3/28/11
Week of March 14 Concrete being poured for cart turnarounds completed. Movement of equipment and supplies from at risk high water areas is continuing. Week of March 21 Work is being progressing on lighting and hand rail for new wall.
Week of March 28 EKS is anchoring the extension of the barge pulling system on the new wall. Lock is now open for business.
Week of April 4 Lock Wall has been accepted by the Corps of Engineers for normal lock operations
EKS is no longer responsible for providing tow assist at the lock. Lock assists, if needed are the responsibility of the towing companies. EKS thanks all users of lock 3, during the construction of the wall, for their cooperation and patience.
Week of August 14 Work has started on a modification of the contract. Portable Barge Service is placing rock on the Red Wing Wildlife League property on right descending side below the lock. See RWWL page for an explanation.
